Tour Plan
Depart the United States on an overnight flight bound for Zurich, Switzerland.
Welcome to Switzerland! Upon arrival in Zurich, you will be met and transferred to the whimsical town of Interlaken. From almost anywhere in your hotel you will be welcomed to this mountainous country with stunning views of the Swiss Alps; whether you are spending your afternoon unwinding at the spa, sipping cocktails on the restaurant terrace, or simply gazing out the window of your own room.
Take the day to journey through some other Bernese Oberland towns. Marvel at the iconic waterfall of Lauterbrunnen, stroll through the quiet car-free villages of Wengen and Mürren, or scrape the surface of the hundreds of miles of stellar walking trails around Grindewald.
Board your cogwheel train and begin your ascent to the highest train station in Europe, Jungfraujoch, saddled between the soaring peaks of Jungfrau and Mönch. At the top, climb even higher with an elevator ride up into the Sphinx observatory, admire sculptures in the Ice Palace, and sit down for lunch at one of several restaurants.
Watch the jagged Swiss landscape roll by on your luxury train from Interlaken to Lucerne. Enjoy the view of Lake Lucerne from the comfort of your own hotel room or make your way to the spa for afternoon. For dinner, you will not have to wander far with four restaurants to choose from in your hotel alone.
Day 6: Lucerne Highlights
This morning, you will learn about all of the best Lucerne has to offer on a private walking tour to sites like Chapel Bridge and the Old Town. Use the afternoon to double-back to the places that fascinated you the most on your tour or see the city from the water by cruising around the bay on a yacht.
Day 7: Travel to Innsbruck
Cross the border into Austria on your luxury train ride from Lucerne to Innsbruck. Take the afternoon to explore Innsbruck’s colorful architecture or head up into the nearby mountains famed for winter sports. Retire to your hotel in the evening and take in the views of the city from the panoramic window of your room or the rooftop bar.
Day 8: Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany
Enter a fairytale world and get a glimpse of Germany on a full day private tour of Neuschwanstein Castle. Discover the murals and woodwork on the inside in addition to the impressive outside, surrounded by the gorgeous mountains before continuing on to the Bavarian towns of Mittenwald and Ettalbefore.
Day 9: Travel to Salzburg & Highlights
Board your luxury train from Innsbruck to the baroque city of Salzburg. Drop your bags at your hotel before setting off on a private tour of the most beloved sites. Stops include Mozartplatz, a square dedicated to the famous musician that once called Salzburg his home, and Hohensalzburg Fortress, an impossible-to-miss structure that dominates the cityscape.
Set off on a full day tour to the picturesque lake village of Hallstatt. Wander the charming streets before taking the funicular up the mountain to visit the oldest salt mine in the world. Literally slide your way through the mine shafts and appreciate the lake laid out before you from the Skywalk viewing platform.
Experience the largest system of ice caves in the world on a private full day tour of Eisriesenwelt. You will be guided through the frozen limestone mountain, learning about the science and history that made this unique landmark possible.
Day 12: Travel to Vienna & Mozart Orchestra
Snake your way across northern Austria on your luxury train ride to Vienna. For something a little different, consider spending your afternoon on a chocolate-based spa treatment at your hotel. This evening, enjoy dinner at the Wiener Musikverein while watching the Vienna Mozart Orchestra. Not only have these musicians dedicated themselves to learning the art of Mozart, but they go above and beyond to bring their performances to life by dressing in historical costumes and wigs.
Day 13: Vienna Highlights
Hop on a bike and follow your tour guide through the city streets, stopping at dazzling sights like Hofburg Palace St. Stephen’s Cathedral, and the Danube Canal. In the afternoon, you will be able to return to your favorite spots at your own leisure.
Say farewell to Austria as you head to the airport for your return flight to the United States.
