Day 1: Departure

Depart the United States on an overnight flight bound for Athens, Greece.

Day 2: Arrival

Welcome to Greece! Upon arrival in Athens, once the thriving heart of Ancient Greek civilization, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Take the evening to recuperate from your flight by lounging on your private balcony overlooking Syntagma Square and Lycabettus Hill.

Day 3: Acropolis Tour

Spend the morning traveling back in time through the iconic ruins Athens is known for. Enter the Acropolis on your private tour and see the Parthenon, the most famous ruin of them all, before continuing on to the Agora, the Acropolis Museum, and the Temple of Zeus.

Day 4: Delphi Day Trip

Learn more about the Ancient Greeks with a private full day trip to the mystical archaeological site of Delphi. Highlights include the ancient theater, Temple of Apollo, Athenian Treasury, and the Castalian Spring.

Day 5: Travel to Nafplion via Corinth

Pick up your rental car and start your day with a visit to Corinth. Cross the picturesque, narrow canal connecting the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea before heading to the ancient landmarks, where you will see the Temple of Apollo with its mountainous backdrop. Afterwards, continue to Nafplion and take advantage of your hotel’s restaurant for dinner.

Day 6: Leisure Day

Today, you may choose to visit the the nearby stone ruins of Mycenae, once the citadel of the powerful Mycenaean civilization. From there, head over to the vast open-air theater of Epidaurus before returning to Nafplion.

Day 7: Travel to Monemvasia

Drive across inland Peloponnese to the medieval castle town of Monemvasia. Settle into your hotel, a Byzantine mansion with sprawling grounds speckled with a luxurious pools, vineyards, and centuries-old orange trees. Take the afternoon to unwind with a wine tasting in the cellar or a massage at the spa.

Day 8: Leisure Day

You may choose to spend today unearthing Monemvasia and its intriguing history. This fortress was purposefully built to be difficult to see from the mainland to avoid enemy attacks, and could only be reached by boat. Over time, the town was constructed along with the single path leading to it, hence the name meaning “single passage”.

Day 9: Travel to Kardamili

Make your way northwest to Kardamili, one the seven cities Agamemnon promised to Achilles to sway him into returning to fighting in the Trojan War, according to Homer. Appreciate the calm and quiet views of the Gulf of Messinia with a cocktail in hand from the bar of your hotel.

Day 10: Leisure Day

Today, you might choose to venture into the Mani Peninsula to a few of its many alluring towns. You could start with the dramatic, stoneladen towns of Areopoli and Vathia before visiting Glythio. While Glythio is the largest and most important town in Mani, it is actually most known by the massive shipwreck resting on its shore.

Day 11: Travel to Kefalonia

Board a ferry with your car and be swept across the waters to the stunning island of Kefalonia. Disembark and drive toward Fiscardo, where you will be staying nearby. Have a nice, relaxing afternoon in the pool of your hotel overlooking the water.

Day 12: Leisure Day

You may choose to use this leisure day for some sightseeing around Kefalonia from the architecture of the Castle of Assos to the geological phenomenon of the Melissani cave lake.

Day 13: Leisure Day

You might wish to hop around to a few of the many beaches of Kefalonia, or simply park yourself on one for the entirety of the day. You could wander your way through the colorful village of Assos to their golden shore or enjoy the unique reddish sand of Xi Beach among other options.

Day 14: Travel to Zante

Cruise across the water on another ferry, this time bound for Zakynthos. After dropping your bags, you may choose to head for the unique beach club, Cameo Island, accessed only by a long wooden bridge. Return to your hotel in the evening and get a little bubbly at the champagne bar with panorama views of the water.

Day 15: Navagio Boat Trip

Discover the wonder of Navagio Beach, often known as Shipwreck Beach for apparent reasons. Your boat ride will not only allow you to see the massive rusting ship remains up close, but also take you into the sea caves. Once your boat docks back at its starting point, you should consider taking your car up to the viewpoint for a gorgeous bird’s eye angle of the beach.

Day 16: Travel to Athens

Set sail one last time onboard a ferry back to mainland Greece in order to continue on to Athens. Drop your rental car off at the airport and walk mere steps to your hotel for a good night’s rest before your flight home.

Day 17: Departure

Say farewell to Greece as you head to the airport for your flight back to the United States.
