Tour Plan

1

Day 1: Departure

Depart the United States on an overnight flight bound for Naples, Italy.
2

Day 2: Arrival

Benvenuto in Italia! Upon arrival in Naples, you will be met and transferred to the seaside gem of the Amalfi Coast, Positano, where you will check into your hotel. From the comfort of your own terrace, spend the afternoon lounging with a view of the sea and glass of wine in hand.
3

Day 3: Leisure Day

Today, you may choose not to stray too far and relax by the beach or venture off to nearby towns. In the morning, you could take a short ferry ride to the region’s namesake, Amalfi, to admire the medieval architecture. From there, you could take a taxi up the craggy cliffside to Ravello, an ideal spot to settle down at a lovely restaurant for dinner and watch the sun set over the water.
4

Day 4: Capri Boat Tour

Set sail for Capri, where you will be given several hours to wander the island at your own pace. You will also have the chance to enjoy the sea to its fullest, passing wondrous rock formations and stopping for an opportunity to swim in the crystal blue water. If the tide cooperates, you may even have the chance to take a trip through the iconic Blue Grotto.
5

Day 5: Positano to Rome via Pompeii

This morning, you will start with a 2-hour private tour of Pompeii. Marvel at the ruins and strap on a virtual reality headset to see the city as it once was. From there, you will continue on to Naples for your train to Rome, Italy’s capital city and hotbed of history. Spend some time getting pampered at the spa or chatting over drinks at the rooftop bar.
6

Day 6: Ancient Rome

Spend the morning traveling back in time on a private tour through the Colosseum and Roman Forum, learning all the ins and outs of these longstanding structures. After some downtime in the afternoon, set off on a food tour and indulge in everything from pasta to gelato to porchetta.
7

Day 7: Vatican

Without ever breaking Rome’s outer borders you will visit the smallest country in the world: Vatican City. Peruse the art of the Vatican Museums, marvel at St. Peter’s Basilica, and gaze at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, accompanied by the knowledge your private tour guide shares with you.
8

Day 8: Travel to Florence

Kick back and enjoy your luxury train ride from Rome to Florence, complete with refreshments and an entertainment system. Once you reach Florence, you have the afternoon to yourself, but be sure to make your way to one of your hotel’s terraces to take in the panoramic view of the city’s rooftops and the Arno River. This evening, attend a cooking class where you will learn to make classics like pasta bolognese and chicken cacciatora.
9

Day 9: Chianti

For the day, you will have a private driver at your disposal to take you to one of the most renowned wine regions of Italy, Chianti. Wind your way through the rolling landscape of Tuscany to quaint hilltop towns with no shortage of wine bars, cafes, and craft shops. Stop at a winery to taste wine, aged balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. Visit the cellars, and sit down for a home-cooked lunch overlooking the vineyards.
10

Day 10: Florence Highlights

Embark on a private tour of all the cannot-miss sights of Florence including two of the most adored art galleries in Italy: the Uffizi and the Accademia. Here you will learn Florence’s art history, being guided through masterpieces such as Michangelo’s David and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus before heading off to see the fascinating architecture of the Ponte Vecchio, Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria.
11

Day 11: Travel to Venice

Depart Florence and watch the Italian countryside roll by from the window of your luxury train. Arrive in Venice, the wondrous city built on more than 100 islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic sea. The afternoon is all yours, but you will have no shortage of dining options with three bars and restaurants located in your hotel alone.
12

Day 12: Venice Highlights

Visit the main sites of Venice with a private guide. Go inside Doge’s Palace and the Basilica of San Marco before making your way through St. Mark’s Square and on to the Bridge of Sighs. This evening, feel the soul of the city with a gondola ride through the canals.
13

Day 13: Departure

Say farewell to Italy as you head to the airport for your flight back to the United States.
