5 European Restaurants Worth Booking a Flight For

Some meals are just meals. And then there are the ones you talk about for years, where the food was great, the setting was unreal, and everything just clicked. Our team put together a list of their personal favorite restaurants across Europe where the views are just as unforgettable as what’s on the plate. These aren’t random picks from a roundup. These are places we’ve genuinely fallen for, and we think you will too.

1. Salvatore Ravello 1958 — Ravello, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Perched on a hilltop above the Amalfi Coast, Salvatore Ravello 1958 is one of those restaurants that stops you in your tracks before you’ve even looked at the menu. The terrace looks out over the Bay of Salerno with the kind of view that makes you want to order another glass of wine just to sit with it a little longer. Get there early, or book your spot well ahead. Seats at the railing go fast for good reason.

The food is rooted in the seasons and in Campania, and it shows. Order the fish of the day, trust whatever the kitchen is doing with it, and make sure you save room for the lemon cake. It feels special without being stuffy, which is honestly the best thing a restaurant can be.

2. Mia’s Restaurant — Oia, Santorini, Greece

Mia’s feels like a secret that someone generous decided to share. Tucked along Oia’s Caldera, the terrace looks straight out at the volcano, Thirasia Island, and those blue domes that make Santorini so recognizable. The restaurant faces west, and for much of the year you’re watching the sun melt into the Aegean while you eat. If that sounds like your kind of evening, start planning now.

The food draws from everything the region does best. Freshly caught fish from the Aegean, tangy local cheeses, vegetables from Cycladic farms, and a wine program that leans into the flavors of the Mediterranean at every turn. It’s a menu that tastes like somewhere specific, and that’s exactly what makes it so good.

3. La Suite Girafe — Paris, France

In the 1930s, the curator of the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine lived in a private apartment on the 9th floor with a wraparound terrace overlooking the city. Today that space is La Suite Girafe, and the Eiffel Tower sitting directly across the Seine is still the main event. You walk in and immediately forget what you were about to say. It’s that kind of view.

Architect Joseph Dirand designed the interior as a love letter to Art Deco, all warm textures and soft light and botanical details that make you want to settle in for the whole evening. The menu leans toward the sea, with crab and oysters doing a lot of the heavy lifting, though the fillets and truffled linguine mean non-seafood eaters won’t feel like an afterthought. Grab a spot on the terrace if the weather holds. There really is no better seat in Paris.

4. La Terrasse Brasserie — Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa, Interlaken, Switzerland

If the Amalfi Coast and the Greek islands own the sea view category, Interlaken is here to make a strong case for the mountains. La Terrasse Brasserie sits inside the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel, a property that has anchored this Swiss town since 1856, and the outdoor terrace looks straight out at the Jungfrau peaks. On a clear evening at golden hour, the view is almost unfair.

The kitchen keeps things grounded with Swiss and Mediterranean classics made from locally sourced ingredients, guided by a simple but outstanding philosophy that actually holds up on the plate. The hotel is elegant, the service is polished, and the whole experience asks you to slow down and dress up a little. When the Alps are glowing outside your window, that feels like exactly the right call.

5. Secret View Rooftop Cocktail Bar — NH Fori Imperiali, Rome, Italy

Not every stop on a great trip needs to be a sit-down dinner, and Secret View at the NH Fori Imperiali is proof of that. This rooftop bar is pure aperitivo energy, the kind of place you stumble onto at golden hour with an Aperol Spritz in hand and suddenly have no desire to leave. And the name isn’t just clever branding. The panoramic view over the Roman Forums is genuinely one of the best in the city.

There’s something about sipping a cocktail while ancient history stretches out in front of you that feels uniquely Roman. It’s relaxed, it’s atmospheric, and it’s the kind of hidden gem that makes travelers feel like they’ve found something most tourists walk right past. If you’re planning an evening in Rome, start here. Let the view set the tone for the whole night.

Traveling well isn’t just about checking boxes. It’s about collecting moments that actually stay with you. If any of these restaurants have you thinking about your next trip to Europe, we’d love to help you plan it!
